Science & Technology Grants in partnership with Intel
Intel and the
Hillsboro Schools Foundation are pleased to award Science
& Technology Grants of $20,000 each to Farmington View
Elementary, Hillhi and Miller Education Center.
HSF Innovative Education Grants
Since
2002, fifty-five HSF Innovative Grants have provided high impact for
thousands of students in the Hillsboro School District. Teachers are
very creative in proposing innovative and enrichment programs that
enhance the education for children and this year teachers submitted
35 grant abstracts. Twenty-three abstracts totaling $105,889 were
selected to complete the full application.
These grants range from $2000 to $8000 and HSF has currently
budgeted $76,000 for 2007 for this these grants that include all
aspects of curriculum: arts, language, reading, science, math,
horticulture, music, multicultural and other programs.
On February 28th, Trudy Brennan, HSF
Board member and professional grant writer at SOLV, conducted a
grant writing workshop for those teachers who are proceeding with
their grants. The criterion for the HSF grants covers five
categories: Student Engagement, Student Achievement, Educational
Innovation, Instructional Methods, Assessment and Budget.
